Obama and Outsourcing

So the "Change We Can Believe In" has occurred. Sir Barack Obama has won the most talked about elections of U.S.A. and will be crowned as 44th President of U.S.A. on 20th of January of the New Year 2009. It will be interesting to see what will be the changes in global scenario after that as U.S.A. is the country who reigned over the nerves of most of the countries of the world, being the most powerful country in all respect. One thing of most concern is outsourcing, being the most effective factor in economy of U.S.A. and other countries.Obama has promised to bring jobs back to the U.S. before the elections and his statements suggested that he is opposed to outsourcing. Now he has won the elections, it will be much difficult for him to fulfill his pre-election promise due to following reasons: - 1. U.S. is facing huge shortage of technology professionals. It will be hard for U.S. companies to run their operations without outsourcing.2. For many large U.S. firms about 50% of business comes from outside, if they have to remain in competition they have to outsource their work.3. Cost advantage of outsourcing is huge for U.S and it saves about 30 to 35% of costs. Savings may be higher depending upon the location of firms and nature of the tasks being outsourced.4. The ban on outsourcing is mainly being considered due to prevailing world wide recession which will not remain for ever.5. It will be very difficult to revert about a decade long trend of outsourcing.6. The decision will result in slower growth rate in IT and BPO sector all over the world including U.S. although it is more concerned with manufacturing sector.7. It will effect the bilateral relations with most other countries of the world. 8. The President will soon realize or may have realized since now that it will always be beneficial to work together in this interconnected world and outsourcing may be a good tool for reviving the economy of America. As now we have reviewed the after effects of probable ban on outsourcing, we hope it will never come in existence, after all it is related to economy of the whole world.
