How to use hard disc efficiently?

Hello friends!

Welcome back. So untill now we have learned to buy and install new hard disc. Now is the time to learn how we can efficiently use the hard disc. We all know hard disc is the place where data of all types is stored, but only a few know how to store it efficiently. Here are some tips that we may use for the purpose.

1. Make portions on the hard disc. Rename these portions if you wish. By default these will be c, d, e .......

2. Allocate space for these portions efficiently such as about 7 GB for Windows XP, 3 GB for program files, 3 GB for My documents and so on..

3. Install Windows XP on C: drive.

3. Store your documents and other data on the secondary portions. It should not be on the portion on which Operating system (Windows XP) is loaded.

4. Name the folders according to data stored in them.

5. Name your files according to their contents, time and date of their creation so that you can easily recognize them when you later need.

6. Make separate folders for separate types of files like document files should be in separate folders, pictures should be in another and so on..

7. Do not install games and other heavy graphics programs on the portion on which Windows is installed otherwise speed and working of your computer will severely effected.

8. Defrag your hard disc after some time of its usage.

9. We should preferably use NTFS file system as data is less fragmented by using it, but it will not work for Windows 98 operating system.

Dial Up Connection for BSNL GPRS (Motorola L6i)

Hello Friends! Welcome back. I know some of you may be connecting to internet through mobile. I described a problem I faced with BSNL GPRS, and solution for that. In this post I am giving steps to make an intenet connection for BSNL GPRS through Motorola L6i Mobile.
First of all install the software on your computer that came with your Motorola Phone CD. You will have to insert the CD into CDROM and follow the instructions on your screen as this is an autoplay CD. After installing the software you will get an ICON "MOtorola Phone Tools" on your desktop. Now follow the following steps.
1. Click on Motorola Phone Tools Icon.
2. Choose profile "Default Profile" and click on O.K.
3. This will show photo of your mobile on desktop after searching and installing it.
4. Click on "Internet Connection" button.
5. It will open Internet connection wizard.
6. Click on next.
7. Give connection name of your choice.
8. Choose country or region as from drop down list.
9. Service provider will automatically be chosen as . Click on next.
10. Leave GPRS selected. Click on next.
11. Leave username and password blank.
12. In the APN text box type "gprsnorth.cellone.in"
13. Click on next-next until finish screen. Click on "finish" to end the wizard.
14. Start the connection and enjoy internet surfing.

Using BSNL GPRS on Motorola L6i

Hello friends!
Today I am discussing a problem I faced much. Earlier I was using Airtel GPRS (General Packet Radio System) to connect to internet. But someone stole my Cell Phone Motorola L6i on which I was using it. Thanks to Cyber cell Panchkula Police, which traced and returned it to me after about three months. I had to purchase a new Motorola L6i in between as I am addicted to internet. But this time I opted for BSNL GPRS. The experience was more bitter as it was not easy to connect to internet on computer through the mobile with BSNL GPRS.
I was spending more than Rs. 450/- for BSNL GPRS (including mobile voice calls), but in vain. I was able to use internet on mobile but not on computer. I tried myself a lot hard, researched Internet for the problem, contacted customer care centre of many districts but all in vain. Different solutions were suggested but nothing worked, even BSNL engineers were unable to solve my problem.
Finally I found solution. The solution was in Motorola Phone Tools CD. I spent Rs. 250/- on it, although it should have been free with the mobile it self. So next time you buy a phone may be of any company, do not forget to ask for its CD containing the necessary software. It may save you from many problems. With this CD of Motorola Phone Tools I was able to enjoy internet on computer also. In my next post I will tell you how you can create a dial up connection which is essential to connect.

Video: Analogue or Digital

Welcome back. Let us today compare two types of videos i.e. Analogue and Digital. We will see which is better.
It is very difficult for our eyes to differentiate between analogue and digital video. But digital video is always preferred because of the ease with which it can be created, edited, transmitted, stored or received.
It is very easy to edit a digital video or to store it as digital format offers a great advantage over anlogue format. We have to choose a suitable special software and we can edit our digital videos. We can store hundreds of movies, or movie clips, on hard drivesand other storage media like CDs,DVDs,USB Pen drives and also on Memory cards of our mobile phones. We can make copies of our personal videos and share them with our friends or family members staying far on the Internet through emails. with the help of computers in our lives ,doing all this has become a kid's play.

On the other hand with analogue videos, we need to store each video on a separate video cassette. For making copies of that cassette will require two video casstte recorder (VCRs). One for playing back the cassette, and second for recording the video in real time on to another cassette. Also this is a very difficult and time consuming task.
The equipment required for analgue videos is costly, where as we can easily buy digital equipment like CD Players, DVD ROMs/Writers, Web/Digital Cameras very easily.
Quality of digital video is much better than analogue. You can check and also using while viewing digital channels on Satellite TV

Welcome back. Let us today know something about a technology that changed the scenario of television viewing.
In early 1990's cable and satellite television were introduced in India and rest of the world . For the first time people watched gulf war live on their TV screens. Introduction of satellite & cable TV opened doors for many new employment opportunities also. The entertainment industry also started to bloom again. Due to development in electronics, consumer elecronics business is flourishing again.

Protect your Computer

Virus is the destructive software program that damages your computer's hardware and software. Your computer starts malfunctioning leaving you dumbed and astonished. • While scanning your computer for viruses make sure that option is activated for scanning compressed/zipped file.
• Opt for auto repair of infected files in your computer.
• Activate e-mail and instant message scanning in your antivirus program.
• Scan your computer atleast weekly for viruses.
